Duties
- Oversee daily office operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient patient service delivery
- Manage dental insurance claims processing, verifying coverage, submitting claims, and following up on reimbursements
- Supervise office staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare privacy standards
- Utilize dental practice management software Dentrix to manage patient data, billing, and scheduling
- Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve claim issues promptly and optimize reimbursement processes
- Oversee budgeting, fiscal management, and financial reporting to ensure the practice’s financial health
- Implement best practices in medical administrative support, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems management
- Support human resources functions such as onboarding new staff, managing employee records, and facilitating ongoing training in medical terminology and clinic procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental office management or healthcare administration with a focus on dental insurance coordination
- Strong supervisory skills with experience leading teams in a medical or dental setting
- Proficiency in dental practice management software Dentrix
- Knowledge of medical billing procedures, managed care policies, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Background in fiscal management including budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and acute care procedures relevant to dental clinics
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies
- Prior supervisory or managerial experience within a healthcare or dental practice is highly desirable
