What You'll Do
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you'll support projects from initial exploration through construction while working alongside experienced engineers, geologists, project managers, and clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform geotechnical engineering investigations and evaluations.
- Assist with project planning, proposals, scope development, and scheduling.
- Analyze subsurface conditions and develop engineering recommendations.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate drilling, laboratory testing, and field investigations.
- Perform construction observations, quality assurance, and quality control activities.
- Support foundation, earthwork, pavement, and retaining wall recommendations.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Assist with project budgeting and tracking.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 2–3 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Geotechnical engineering emphasis
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
- Experience with GDOT or other DOT projects
- Experience preparing geotechnical reports and engineering recommendations
- Interest in obtaining PE licensure
