The Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with construction accounting experience and a strong focus on accuracy and timely reporting. In this role, you will track and reconcile project costs, support month-end close, and help maintain financial records that reflect overall project performance. You will work closely with project managers, project engineers, and the broader Accounting/Finance team to ensure consistent cost tracking and support informed project decisions. This is an in-office position during the training period, with the option to work from home one day per week after training.
What you will accomplish
- Collaborates with Accounting team members across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
- Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts and ensures accuracy.
- Accrues sales tax liabilities, processes monthly adjustments, and returns.
- Supports project teams as needed to ensure expense reports are submitted on time.
- Records change orders in the accounting system accurately and promptly.
- Partners with project teams to review projects for completion and initiates job closeout in the accounting system.
- Provides timely, accurate responses to support smooth project operations.
What we would like you to have
- 2–5 years of financial accounting experience (construction preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field..
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion, Concur, and/or Procore preferred.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
