The Role
We are looking for an early career Estimator who will support and work with pre-construction/business development staff in the review of project plans, requirements and specifications. The Estimator shall perform quantity take-offs, pricing, and bidding of construction projects and have knowledge of construction costs and principles while adhering to Willmeng’s quality standards and client satisfaction.
What you will accomplish
- Create conceptual and detailed budgets independently without relying on subcontractors.
- Collaborate with architects, owners, and operations teams to refine budgets throughout the design process.
- Present budgets to clients professionally and facilitate discussions when alignment issues arise.
- Explain budget changes clearly to team members after engineering reviews.
- Work collaboratively to meet all client deliverables.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously with tight deadlines.
- Maintain accuracy while handling numerous projects concurrently.
What we would like you to have
- Strong independent work ethic with ability to function without support staff.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to read audiences and deliver messages effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction costs and principles.
- Experience with OnScreen Take-off, Excel macros, and other estimating software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute under pressure.
