About Willmeng

Since 1977, Arizona-based commercial general contractor Willmeng Construction has been committed to staying true to building excellence and preserving the company’s high value to the clients we serve. Willmeng gives back to our community and has been recognized for a multitude of awards for project excellence and company culture including Contractor of the Year by AZRE Magazine, #1 General Contractor by Ranking Arizona, Best Workplace by Inc. Magazine, General Contractor of the Year by NAIOP, and Best Places to Work by Phoenix Business Journal.

Our strategic vision focuses on three fundamental aspects: supporting prelease transactions, maintaining our ability to competitively bid projects small and large, and fostering the “altruistic service” corporate culture established by recruiting highly talented individuals of great character.

The Role

We’re looking for a Construction Insurance Administrator with a strong construction background to provide administrative support for Builders Risk, Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI), and bonding programs. This role involves interpreting insurance clauses, coordinating with brokers and internal teams to ensure compliance with project and owner requirements. Hybrid: 75% in-office, 1-2 days WFH after training.

What you will accomplish

  • Contracts: Review prime construction contract insurance requirements, including RFPs and proposed contracts, during the proposal stage. Escalate risk issues to Legal as needed, and ensure all deliverables (certificates, bonds, and policies) are secured and delivered on time.
  • Insurance Compliance: Ensure compliance with owner, lender, and contract insurance requirements. Partner with internal teams (Legal, Contracts, Operations), project managers, trade partners, and insurance agents to resolve any gaps or discrepancies.
  • Documentation Tracking: Monitor certificates, endorsements, and bonds throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Insurance Renewals: Support the preparation of renewal applications, coordinate with brokers, and keep renewals on track.
  • Builders Risk: Enroll new projects, structure coverage, and oversee monthly reporting.
  • Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI): Handle project enrollment applications, subcontractor onboarding, and monthly tracking reports.
  • AIA Documents: Review AIA contracts for accuracy and revisions before finalization (including G704s, G706s).
  • Bonding: Oversee bonding requirements (payment and performance bonds, bid bonds) and coordinate with surety providers. Facilitate bond closeout and manage related reporting and updates.

What we would like you to have

  • Strong background in construction with knowledge of project phases, common risks, and related practices, with the ability to read and understand project documentation.
  • Working knowledge of construction insurance policies, including general liability, workers' compensation, and builder's risk insurance requirements.
  • Experience with AIA contract software, especially formatting and finalizing owner agreements and completion forms.
  • The ability to manage multiple documents and tasks at once, staying organized under deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially when handling forms, contracts, and insurance documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to ask the right questions, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and work effectively with external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-specific software like Procore, Textura and Bridgit.

You’re inspired by our values

  • Altruistic - Our foundation is built upon the authentic, selfless concern we share for the success and wellbeing of others.
  • Fair 360 - We illuminate with kindness by seeking to understand before being understood and by caring more than may seem reasonable so we can achieve genuine success for all.

  • Sincere - We present no facades, only genuine elevations of truth, trust, and wholehearted loyalty to the employees we mentor, the clients we serve and the communities we call home.
  • Nimble - Our structural integrity is ensured through the balance of resourcefulness, responsiveness, and adaptability and strengthened by being well-rounded in the market to serve at the highest levels.
