What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Operator position at Willmar Municipal Utilities?
Position Requirements:
1. Minnesota Class C Water License
2. Two years’ experience in municipal water operation and maintenance activities
3. An Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree or Diploma in Water Environment Technologies, Water Operations or other post-secondary, accredited water technician/operator program or successful completion, prior to employment start date, of 360 contact hours of on-line education in water operator training courses, from a program or programs approved by the Minnesota Department of Health (all education tuition and fees to be paid by applicant).
4. Minnesota Class B Driver’s License
5. Participation in Weekend Standby program
6. Compliance with Willmar Municipal Utilities Personnel Policy Manual including but not limited to:
a) Substance Abuse Policies
b) DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program participation
c) Pre-employment Physical Examination
7. Physically able and willing to perform the following tasks:
a) Climb elevated water storage tanks and work on same, exposed to the elements
b) Enter and work in Confined Spaces
c) Lift 100 pounds
d) Work outside in extreme weather conditions (i.e. winter water main break repairs)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
