What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Furnace Tender position at Willman Industries, Inc.?
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect, patch, and replace refractory lining as needed
Record production data and maintain production logs
Work with furnace charger to determine appropriate additions to ensure chemistry meets specifications
Provide correct pour temperatures and pour weights as requested by Melt Supervisor
-Sampling of metal with spoon to ensure good health and appropriate chemistry
Maintain inventory of products and equipment
Maintain neat and orderly workstation
Report equipment malfunction to supervisor/maintenance
Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Must be able to stand for an entire shift
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Required PPE to protect from heat and splashes of hot metal
Basic Math Skills
Maintain good attendance record
Comply with all quality, operating and safety rules and procedures
This opening is for a second shift position. Working all shifts as needed, including weekends, holidays, and overtime to support production needs
