What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biology and Chemistry Science Teacher position at Williston?
The Williston Northampton School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton Massachusetts and is a culturally diverse educational community serving grades 7-12. We are seeking to hire a full-time Science Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This position is responsible for teaching some combination of biology and chemistry classes at both an introductory and honors level. There is also a possibility to propose and teach electives related to areas of interest. The Science Teacher is responsible for creating and updating plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. This position includes involvement with our afternoon athletics and extracurricular activities as well as student advising. Living on campus and working in the School’s residential life program may also be an option with this position. Driving a school minibus is an expectation of this position.
Strong candidates will have middle school or high school teaching experience, preferably within an independent school environment. The candidate will possess a Bachelor’s in a relevant field. The candidate will demonstrate a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, experience with multiple methods of content delivery and engaging students with the material, strong writing and communication skills, creativity, and a collaborative mindset. Candidates must possess the flexibility, energy, commitment to teamwork, and appreciation for adolescents that life in an independent school boarding community requires.
