Hours per Week: Maximum of 16

Schedule: Work hours are flexible to meet students' class schedules

Summary

Williston State College is dedicated to student success both in the classroom and in the world of work. This on-campus position is student-centered to provide high-quality services and hands-on learning experience.

Various departments are looking for a highly motivated assistants to help faculty and staff meet the operational needs of the division. This position is an opportunity for students to develop effective organizational, teambuilding, and communication skills.

Responsibilities are dependent on departmental needs. Duties may include:

Classroom/Office management

• Scanning
• Copying
• Shredding
• Recordkeeping
• Calling and answering Phones
• Greeting and assisting students or other visitors
• Documents Retention

Events Management

• Staffing on-campus events/activities
• Managing calendar/appointments
• Creating marketing pieces

Janitorial duties

• Tidying office spaces
• Dusting
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming
• Cleaning bathrooms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Professional phone and email etiquette
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with various populations while maintaining good customer service
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to multi-task
• Disciplined
• Dependable
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Minimum Requirements

• Currently enrolled student at WSC
• Good academic standing at WSC (2.0 GPA or higher)
• Good financial standing at WSC (check with Student Finance on financial status)

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal Work Study eligible (check with Financial Aid on FWS status)
• Completion of Math 103 (College Algebra) or higher or transfer equivalent
