Fiber Arts Club Coordinator Needed
Location: Williston Central School
Williston Central School is seeking a creative, patient, and enthusiastic Fiber Arts Club Coordinator to lead our middle school after-school Fiber Arts Club. This club provides students in grades 6–8 with opportunities to explore a variety of fiber and needle arts in a welcoming, hands-on environment. The Coordinator will guide students in learning new techniques, support ongoing projects, and help foster a positive and collaborative club culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and encourage student participation through school announcements, posters, classroom visits, and other outreach efforts.
- Plan and lead weekly after-school club sessions focused on a variety of fiber arts and needlework techniques (e.g., knitting, crocheting, embroidery, weaving, felting, etc.).
- Provide step-by-step instruction and individualized support to students of all skill levels.
- Develop age-appropriate projects that build skills, creativity, and confidence.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Manage supplies, tools, and materials; track inventory and request replenishments as needed.
- Uphold all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience with one or more fiber arts/needlework techniques required; ability to teach multiple techniques preferred.
- Prior experience working with middle-school-aged students (teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom-management skills.
- Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for hands-on learning.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners.
Compensation:
- This position is fully compensated through The Jeannette A. Randy Trust, and will be paid based on the co-curricular activity pay scale, Category D, from the CVSD Collective Bargaining Agreement.
