What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Control Practitioner position at Willis Knighton Health?
Seeking a full-time Infection Control Practitioner, who will serve as an educator and consultant to assist in implementing patient care in procedural and surgical departments. This highly motivated, detail-oriented person will make decisions relating to infection control practice based on best practice, regulatory agencies, and Willis-Knighton policy and procedure.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of Louisiana or a Bachelor's Degree in another Allied Health Program such as microbiology, medical technology, pharmacy or public health.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in sterile processing, surgical services, or another procedural area
- Ability to communicate and work with persons of diverse backgrounds
- Interest in being able to participate in continued education programs related to hospital epidemiology
- Willingness to maintain a membership in the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)
