What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Charge position at Willis - Knighton Health System?
The Pediatric/Women's Services unit is composed of five beds located in the 2North wing at Willis Knighton Bossier, which also houses the Perinatal Unit. This unit provides care for gynecological, urological, and other medical/surgical female patients. The staff on this unit are also cross trained to provide care for postpartum patients and well newborns. Pediatric patients are not admitted to WK Bossier unless there is emergent need for admission. Under those circumstances, the patient would be admitted to 2North under the care of the nursing staff there.
The charge nurse for 2North must have a strong medical-surgical background and must be able to work independently. Nurses on this unit work 12-hour shifts and have flexible scheduling options. A minimum of 5 years' med-surg experience is required. PALS is required and can be provided by the hospital if necessary.
