What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Educator position at Willis - Knighton Health System?
Willis Knighton is seeking an RN to join our team as the Diabetes Nurse Educator. The Diabetes Nurse Educator will be responsible for providing diabetes self-management education to patients with diabetes. The education will be provided in classroom and individual settings in accordance with American Diabetes Association Self-Management Education program recognition guidelines.
The responsibilities will encompass assessment of the patient with diabetes; development of an individual education plan; establishment of goals and objectives; development of a self-management support plan; education of clinical professionals. Other duties will include ensuring patient satisfaction, quality care and compliance with regulatory agency standards.
The candidate considered for this position must have a current RN license in the state of Louisiana, and it is preferred for the applicant to be a Certified Diabetes Educator. The individual selected for this position will be required to attend a hospital and department orientation upon hire.
