Job Title: Nurse Assistant – Discharge Support Specialist
Location: Willis-Knighton North
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM (Full-time)
Position Summary
We are looking for a positive, team-oriented Nurse Assistant to serve as a Discharge Support Specialist. This role is focused on creating a smooth and supportive discharge experience for patients and families. The right person will bring energy, compassion, and a strong patient-first attitude every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with discharge preparation, including dressing and gathering personal belongings
- Pack patient items and ensure all belongings leave safely with the patient
- Provide clear, friendly education about the Discharge Lobby process
- Escort or coordinate patient flow to the discharge area as needed
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and care teams to support timely discharges
- Maintain a positive, welcoming environment for patients and families during the discharge process
Qualifications
- Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Most importantly: a consistently positive attitude and patient-centered mindset
