About Us
Our Hoquiam Plywood facility is seeking a motivated and dependable Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team on day shift. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values safety and enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Position Summary
The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing forklifts and other mobile equipment used throughout the facility. This position plays a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on forklifts and mobile equipment
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, fuel and mechanical issues
- Complete inspections and identify safety concerns
- Maintain maintenance records and work orders
- Respond to breakdowns and minimize downtime
- Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Assist with shop organization and parts inventory
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment or industrial machinery preferred
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and in varying weather conditions
