Part-Time Staff PharmacistPosition Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Part-Time Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. In this role, you will provide exceptional pharmaceutical care by ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing of medications while delivering outstanding patient service. You will play a key role in promoting medication safety, improving patient outcomes, administering clinical services, and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Services

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting patients, addressing concerns, and providing compassionate, personalized care.
• Counsel patients on medication use, dosage, side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, storage, adherence, and over-the-counter products.
• Conduct comprehensive medication reviews, medication therapy management (MTM), and medication reconciliation to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer immunizations and provide clinical services, including health screenings, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and wellness programs, in accordance with state regulations and company protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues, clarify prescriptions, recommend therapeutic alternatives, and improve patient care.
• Promote pharmacy healthcare services and educate patients on preventive care and wellness initiatives.

Pharmacy Operations

• Accurately review, verify, compound (when applicable), and dispense prescription medications in compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations.
• Evaluate prescriptions for appropriateness, allergies, interactions, contraindications, and dosage accuracy.
• Prepare non-sterile compounded medications in accordance with USP <797> standards and established aseptic techniques, when applicable.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), and pharmacy management software.
• Process insurance claims accurately and resolve billing issues by collaborating with insurance providers and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor inventory levels, order medications, manage stock rotation, track expirations, and maintain controlled substance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, controlled substance regulations, Good Faith Dispensing practices, accreditation standards, and all pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment while supporting efficient workflow and operational excellence.
• Prepare and maintain required regulatory documentation, reports, and records in accordance with state and federal requirements.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff to ensure quality service and efficient operations.
• Foster a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered work environment.
• Assist with staff scheduling, workflow coordination, and daily pharmacy operations as assigned.
• Support onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development of pharmacy team members.
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to improve operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, quality metrics, and business performance.

Quality & Compliance

• Maintain all required pharmacist licenses, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
• Stay current with developments in pharmacy practice, healthcare regulations, and emerging clinical guidelines.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and pharmacy performance programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws, company policies, and patient privacy requirements.

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to obtain certification within 180 days of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain as required.
• Minimum one (1) year of pharmacist experience in retail, community, hospital, ambulatory care, or long-term care pharmacy.
• Experience with prescription dispensing, pharmacy operations, insurance billing, controlled substance regulations, and pharmacy management systems.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy software, Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), and prescription processing systems.
• Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy, and pharmacy regulations.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred

• Experience with compounding and USP <797> standards.
• Previous experience supervising pharmacy technicians or leading pharmacy operations.
• Experience with Medication Therapy Management (MTM), immunization programs, and patient outcome initiatives.
