Position Overview
We’re seeking a Lead Direct Support Staff Member who can combine leadership with compassion.
This person will oversee daily operations in our residential home, mentor and support direct care staff, and ensure that residents receive consistent, high-quality care.
As part of this leadership role, the Lead Staff also serves as the on-call contact for direct support staff to respond to urgent issues, scheduling needs, or emergency situations.

What You’ll Do
- Lead, support, and schedule direct care staff across all shifts
- Serve as the daily point of contact for staff, providing guidance and accountability
- Be available on-call for after-hours questions, emergencies, or scheduling needs
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive home environment for residents
- Conduct staff training, coaching, and ongoing performance support
- Ensure accurate and timely resident documentation
- Monitor household supplies and maintain a clean, organized, compliant facility
- Communicate across shifts and lead or attend staff meetings
- Model positive behavior and problem-solving for residents
- Assist the Executive Director as needed, including during emergencies
- High School Diploma required; two (2) years of college preferred
- Five (5) years or more of direct care/program experience with at-risk youth (Level II or higher residential setting)
- Compassionate, patient, and calm under pressure
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Must be 21 years or older
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Active, hands-on role involving walking, standing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to remain calm in challenging behavioral situations
- On-site work with occasional schedule changes, emergencies, and on-call duties
