JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to Parks Operations Director, responsible for overseeing the daily/overnight operations and staff of an assigned Williamson County Park. Provides oversight of facilities and amenities, reservations, natural, cultural, and historic resources, stewardship, and facility maintenance.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Participates in the hiring process of parks staff
- Performs annual performance evaluations for assigned staff; sets and reviews staff goals
- Supervises, reviews, and provides oversight of work performed by park staff
- Provides leadership, coaching, and discipline to staff to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations
- Creates and administers work schedules for park staff
- Provides and creates trainings to park staff on new procedures, processes and changes implemented by senior leadership
- Oversees and manages all natural, cultural, and historic resources for assigned park within the department
- Oversees park maintenance and upkeep of an assigned park location
- Assists other department and county personnel and consultants (when applicable) performing different facets of project management for projects on assigned park location.
- Provides aid and oversight for various community outreach programs, special events, educational programs, and other park programs
- Assists in creating and developing marketing and promotional tools
- Develops and maintains operational routines and procedures for equipment, including organizing, storing, and arranging inventory for daily use
- Creates and develops various park reports associated with park assets, inventory, and finances
- Oversees and supervises inspections of buildings, sports fields and facilities, playgrounds, preserves, campgrounds, and other park operations assets
- Compiles and create reports to ensure department is following various regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements
- Maintains responsibility for procurement activities at assigned park location to include research, quotes, acquisition, tracking, receiving and proper closeout of purchase
- Manages p-card to include proper use and timely reconciliation
- Manages and tracks assigned operating budget; coordinates with other department leadership to mitigate cost overruns
- Assists in annual budget process by collaborating with department leadership on equipment needs, park maintenance and other departmental cost for budget development
- Serves as park liaison with vendors, agencies, contractors, and other external entities
- Provides customer service to customers and staff via telephone, email, or in person
- Attends all trainings and meetings as required
- Performs special duties as assigned

- Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting, and operating equipment

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather
- Regular travel between work sites as required
IRREGULAR HOURS
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
- On-site residency may be required in County-owned residence
- Subject to after-hours call outs and patrols
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
- Regular attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of related park operations experience including grounds and facility maintenance
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Two (2) years of customer service experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
- Valid Texas driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Park Administration, Natural or Cultural Resources Management, Business Management or related field.
- Knowledge of budget development and tracking
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation Certification (CPR)
- First Aid/AED Certification
- Related Occupational Certification
- Pesticide/Herbicide Applicators License
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) – SW Williamson County Regional Park only
