Do you possess a High school diploma or equivalent?
Do you possess three (3) years of experience in construction roadway including one (1) year of inspection experience?
Do you possess a working knowledge of construction materials, sampling, and testing?
Do you possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction material tracking applications?
Reporting directly to the Environmental Division Director, responsible for performing environmental inspections to ensure compliance of on-site sewage facilities (OSSF) with State and County requirements. Level II of III in Inspector.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Reviews residential, multi-family and commercial on-site sewage facility permit applications
- Conducts and documents pre-installation, installation, and post-installation OSSF inspections
- Performs and documents public health nuisance inspections and investigations including collection of samples, case investigation and documentation
- Compiles evidence and creates nuisance investigation reports
- Refers enforcement cases to the County Engineer and the District Attorney
- Meets with landowners, designers, and contractors to respond to questions and issues
- Responds to technical questions from homeowners, designers, County Commissioners, and other Williamson County Officials regarding Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Williamson County OSSF procedures, requirements, and design standards
- Identifies any recharge features, wells, drainage, breaks in grade
- Coordinates, trains, mentors Inspector I, Inspector II, and Sanitarian II employees
- Performs quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and agency policies
- Assists with public information requests and document management
- Assists in the management of the maintenance records tracking system
- Handles cash/checks or other deposits
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years’ experience in consumer health, environmental health, environmental laboratory sciences, wastewater treatment, engineering, or sanitation including two (2) years of experience with focus on OSSF design, installation, compliance, and enforcement
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Required
- TCEQ Site Evaluator License
- TCEQ Designated Representative License
- Valid driver’s license required
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 30 semester hours or its equivalent in a basic or applied science. Approved science courses are listed in 16 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 119.23.
- Five (5) years of experience in consumer health, environmental health, environmental laboratory sciences, wastewater treatment, engineering, or sanitation including three (3) years of experience with focus on OSSF design, installation, compliance, and enforcement
- ARC-GIS software knowledge including the ability to perform advanced special data analysis and editing
- Bilingual in Spanish
