What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Building Sub Aide position at Williamson Central School District?

- Assists with classroom activities and regular school routines as directed by the teacher.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Supports student(s) with individual needs as identified by the teaching team (i.e. Feeding, toileting, self-care, social emotional development, academic).
- Corrects papers or workbooks and keeps records as assigned by the teacher.
- Prepares bulletin boards and displays as requested by the teacher.
- Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
- Participates in in-service training programs as assigned.
- Supervises lunch or play periods as scheduled.
- Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma, Associate degree, or additional training in area of services is preferred.
- Sincere interest in working with children and their developmental needs.
- Ability to work with and follow instructions of the teacher.
