Job Title IT Technician
Job Type Full Time – Forty (40) hours per week
Salary Range Dependent upon experience
Job Summary
Full time position (with up to a six month probationary period) under general supervision of the Information Systems Manager, that provides support for the District’s network infrastructure, hardware & software maintenance and end user support.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties and requirements may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Excellent communication skills with a commitment to understanding requirements as well as business objectives.
- Use our Ticketing System to work on and resolve Helpdesk Tickets & Service Requests
- Ability to provide effective, strategic advice on the use of technology to achieve shared goals.
- Thorough ticket notes describing in detail the troubleshooting process, resolution, reason for escalation (if applicable), conversations with Client or other employees, etc.
- Commitment to learning and supporting new technological implementations.
- Research troubleshooting techniques for internal processes and programs.
- Provide requested updates to both our external website and internal sharepoint site.
- Problem solving skills to revise existing systems and suggest improvements.
- Ability to produce concise yet thorough reports within IT and for other teams as needed.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess:
- BS/BA in computer science, or relavent IT expeierence
- Significant experience as IT Professional in a corporate setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues quickly and effectively.
- Vmware or other Hypervisor experience a plus
- Critical thinking skills and an analytical mind with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Enthusiastic about working collaboratively.
- Pleasant demeanor and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to document processes and procedural changes.
- Ability to hear instructions and communicate effectively in person or via telephone.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to withstand continuous sitting, twisting upper body, bending, keyboard and personal computer (pc) mouse use, and eye contact with pc monitor
- Bending, crouching, kneeling, and crawling to install or troubleshoot equipment under desks or in tight spaces.
- Frequently lifting or moving equipment weighing 25–50 pounds, such as computers, servers, and peripherals.
Education & Work Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in Active Directory, DNS, Office 365 is a plus
- Customer or client experience
- Experience with Sharepoint
