Duties & Responsibilities
As a Tasting Room/Retail Associate, you’ll be a key part of our guest experience, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed and informed. Your day may include:
Greeting guests warmly and providing knowledgeable, engaging wine tastings
Sharing the story of our winery, vineyards, and wine portfolio
Conducting sales transactions using our POS system, including applying discounts, upselling, and packaging purchases with care
Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting tasting environment — including glassware, counters, floors, and restrooms
Restocking and organizing wine and merchandise displays
Assisting with phone inquiries and guest reservations
Supporting special events and winery activities as needed
Qualifications
Positive, professional, and welcoming attitude
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Eagerness to learn about wine, hospitality, and The Williamsburg Winery’s history and products
Open availability, including weekends and holidays (required)
Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or retail preferred but not required
Ability to lift up to 31 lbs (a case of wine) and stand for long periods
