Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Tutor role located in Williamsburg, VA. In this role, the Tutor will work directly with students with special needs to support their academic and personal development. Responsibilities include creating and implementing tailored lesson plans, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies, collaborating with families and other professionals, and maintaining progress records. The Tutor will help ensure a positive, supportive environment for learning and growth.
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, or special education
- Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and techniques
- Ability to create customized lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to various learning styles
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate progress reports
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and other professionals
- Relevant certifications, such as a teaching license, BCBA certification, or equivalent, are required
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
- Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred
