What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Associate position at Williams Gap Vineyard?
At Williams Gap Vineyard, we believe that wine is more than a beverage, it’s an experience. Nestled in Virginia wine country, our vineyard is dedicated to crafting quality wines and delivering unforgettable hospitality. We are currently seeking two reliable and sales-driven Tasting Associates to join our team.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong service or bar background who is confident working independently in a fast-paced tasting room environment.
Availability Requirements:
- Must have Thursday availability
- Additional availability Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional hospitality and customer service during wine tastings
- Confidently manage bar service independently during shifts
- Actively drive sales through guest engagement, upselling, and wine club enrollment
- Educate guests on our wines, history, and winemaking process (training provided)
- Promote wine club memberships and increase bottle and merchandise sales
- Facilitate sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and daily maintenance of the tasting room
- Restock wine and merchandise; lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all safety standards
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to drive sales in a service or bar setting
- Strong hospitality or bar experience preferred
- Comfortable working efficiently and independently behind the bar
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fast-paced, organized, and dependable with a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Weekend availability required
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must complete ABC training and provide certification
