The Custodian performs a variety of functions to clean and maintain assigned Williams County buildings.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. - Maintains bathrooms, including cleaning sinks, toilets, walls, and mirrors; sanitizes surfaces; ensures bathroom products are stocked
- Sweeps and mops floors, including bathrooms, stairwells, and hallways
- Performs floor care duties, including waxing and buffering commercial floors
- Vacuums assigned offices and hallways
- Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles
- Dusts handrails, ledges, desks, and other equipment as assigned
- Maintains cleanliness of break rooms and kitchens, including cleaning appliances and stocking coffee, soap, utensils, and paper products
- Mixes and prepares cleaning chemicals and materials
- Cleans inside and outside of doors, washes windows
- Maintains exterior areas by collecting and disposing of trash and debris from parking lots, walkways, and grounds
- Removes snow as required
- Provides customer service while interacting with staff, guests, and the public
- Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.
Typical Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED AND one (1) year of janitorial or custodial experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License or equivalent
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Some work is performed outdoors with exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather
- Some work is performed in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment
- Exposure to chemicals, sewage, and dust
- Required to lift up to 50 pounds
- Occasional work outside of regular hours
Special Working Conditions:
Compensation: Starting salary ranges from $21.37 to $23.08/hour depending on experience and training. Salary : $21 - $23
