We're seeking an experienced Superintendent based in the Charlotte, NC area who is willing to travel throughout North Carolina and neighboring states. This role is ideal for a construction leader with a proven history of serving as the Lead Superintendent on large, complex projects, not simply as part of a larger field team.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience delivering projects in K-12 Education, Higher Education, Industrial, and Retail markets. The ideal candidate combines strong technical construction expertise with exceptional leadership, safety awareness, and relationship-building skills to drive successful project outcomes from start to finish.
What You'll Do:
- Lead all field operations from mobilization through project closeout on large and complex construction projects.
- Serve as the primary field leader, directing project execution, site logistics, schedule coordination, quality control, and safety performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and local authorities.
- Manage and hold subcontractors accountable to scope, schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
- Foster a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate work activities across multiple trades while proactively identifying and resolving field challenges.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and project stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
- Mentor and develop field staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
What You Bring:
- Demonstrated success serving as the Lead Superintendent on large commercial construction projects.
- Experience in one or more of the following markets: K-12 Education, Higher Education, Industrial, and Retail.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control.
- Proven ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades in fast-paced environments.
- Exceptional safety leadership and commitment to maintaining a safe, productive jobsite.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout North Carolina and neighboring states as project needs require.
- A reputation for professionalism, accountability, and building strong relationships with project teams and clients.
