Williams College is seeking a curious and analytical Advancement Data & Reporting Analyst to join the Office of College Relations (OCR). The Analyst will be a bridge between raw data and strategic decision-making. By interpreting complex datasets and visualizing trends, the Analyst will empower our fundraising and engagement teams to make informed business decisions that support the mission of the College. As part of the Advancement Operations team, the Analyst will also identify and resolve data integrity/quality issues within our database.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics, Prospect Management & Research, the Advancement Data and Reporting Analyst is responsible for data analytics using statistical methods and models to generate graphs, charts, heat maps, and other visualizations to assist end users in understanding the meaning behind the data.
The Analyst will also support OCR by designing and maintaining dashboards (using primarily Power BI) for data analysis to promote data visualization, identify trends, share insights, review historical data, and identify key performance indicators (KPIs). In addition, the Advancement Data and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for writing and validating complex queries for data mining, designing rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to leadership, and developing specifications and proposed layouts in partnership with end users.
Collaborating with other teams within the Office of College Relations, the Advancement Data and Reporting Analyst will work to maintain and achieve the highest level of data quality to build and sustain confidence in the reporting and visualization end products.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, etc.)
  • Minimum of two years of technical experience in a professional office environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to translate and disseminate data for non-technical audiences
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the department, including senior staff
  • Demonstrated experience with Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Slate CRM database
  • Full time working experience in a higher education or non-profit environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Innovative, energetic, flexible, and highly organized who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Intermediate to Advanced SQL skills and experience handling large, complex datasets
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (R, Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.)
  • Technical expertise with creating models to forecast trends and in data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Adept at data visualization and analysis in addition to writing queries, report writing, and presenting findings

Additional Details:
This is a full-time, benefitted position on the Williams College campus in Williamstown, MA. The pay range for this position is $75,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience.

Remote Work:
In select circumstances, hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available up to 2 days per week with approval for employees based in NY, MA, CT, or VT, subject to review and revision as policy evolves. This position requires a minimum 3 days per week of on-campus, in person work, following a fully in-person onboarding period.
