Reports To: Campus Visitor & Experience Coordinator

Job Type: This is a part time, non exempt position.

General Description:

As a select group of William Woods University students, the University Ambassadors are composed of many unique individuals who are diverse in their activities, majors, genders and ethnicities. Our primary mission is to provide a favorable image of William Woods University to its many publics: the community, prospective students, parents, high school and community personnel, alumni, etc. The University Ambassadors are coordinated through the Office of Admissions and help with the recruitment process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report for a minimum of 2 hours per week in Admissions office.
    • Lunch hosts-sign-up when needed for a prospective student schedule or event schedule
    • Serve as tour guides (campus & barn)
    • Perform office work including, but not limited to:
      • Phone/email contact with prospective students
      • Answering phones
      • Assisting Admissions staff with projects
      • Preparing for events
      • Packaging and Mailing prospective students
    • Participate in all Office of Admissions events
      • Fall Semester & Spring Semester
      • Minimum of 2 hours each event, some events may require additional hours
    • Host perspective students as needed
      • Evenings, overnight, weekends
    • Attend monthly or as scheduled meetings with Admissions Department
    • Attend annual orientation/training sessions each semester
      • Salesforce training
      • Tour Guide Training

Position Requirements:

Must be able to communicate effectively with varying groups.

Must be able on time and reliable.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Ability to climb several flights of stairs several times each day and move freely on campus.
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to spend time outdoors and in inclement weather.
  • Ability to speak and read English fluently.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and phone.
  • Effective mobility skills to move about freely and quickly in office and on campus.

Work Schedule:

Work schedules will be determined at the beginning of each semester with each Ambassador ideally scheduled in non-overlapping 2-hour time blocks between the peak hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours must be completed in the Admissions office. Saturday tours will be scheduled and required on occasional request.
