We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Repairer at William Paterson University. The repairer will be responsible for basic maintenance, construction, repair, painting, or mechanical adjustment work involved in varied types of buildings, facilities, or with building utilities. The work schedule: 7:30 am through 4:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Repair and Maintenance: repair and maintenance of walls, ceilings, interior and exterior brickwork, tile floors, drains, cement and concrete floors, sidewalks, steps, foundations, and other types of masonry, plastering, and stonework to include mixing, placing, and finishing concrete and aligning forms.

2. Carpentry: repair and maintenance of buildings, office furniture, screens, storm sashes, frames, windows, ceilings, partitions, and other types of carpentry work.

3. Painting and Varnishing: painting of wood, metal, brick, and cement walls, floors, and ceilings of the interior and exterior of buildings; the staining, varnishing, and refinishing of cabinets, desks, chairs and other furnishings and equipment; and the painting and repainting of pipes, radiators, tin roofs, and other types of iron work.

4. Snow Removal: Assists in snow removal and ice control work.

5. Electronics and Equipment: Obtains, stores, safeguards, and properly uses equipment,

materials, supplies, and tools.

6. Reporting and Documentation: Keeps records of work done, materials used, and time spent. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use and storage of chemicals, tools, and equipment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other trade shops for consistent and efficient practices throughout the campus. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding work schedules, tasks, and any issues or concerns.

9. Customer Service: Provide friendly and helpful customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Respond to requests and inquiries in a professional and prompt manner.

Requirements:

IPFTE - Range 11 - $37,957.63 - $52,969.36
