We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR professional to join our team. As an HR Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the company and ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions within our organization. You will be responsible for a range of HR activities, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, benefits, compliance, and payroll. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment. Previous HR experience within a human services organization is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and selection.
- Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate a seamless onboarding process.
2. Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employees, addressing their questions and concerns while fostering a positive work culture.
- Assist in resolving employee disputes, conflicts, and grievances.
3. Benefits and Compensation:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in managing compensation-related tasks, such as salary reviews and bonus programs.
4. Compliance and Policy Implementation:
- Stay up-to-date on HR laws and regulations to ensure the organization's compliance.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
5. HR Data and Records:
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Generate reports and analytics for HR-related metrics.
6. Training and Development:
- Assist in planning and implementing yearly and ongoing training
7. Payroll Processing:
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Verify and maintain employee records, including time and attendance data.
- Calculate and process wage garnishments, deductions, and taxes as necessary.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues.
- Educate employees on payroll policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in human resources or related roles, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse groups of people.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
