Sports Information and Gameday Coordinator

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Sports Information and Gameday Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the sports information function, including media relations, statistical reporting, digital content, and game-day communications. This role plays a key part in promoting athletic programs, ensuring accurate reporting, and enhancing the visibility of the university’s athletics initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the university in implementing the statement and purpose
• Assist the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans.
• Assist with game-day operations for all intercollegiate athletic events
• Compile, manage, and distribute accurate statistics for home athletic contests
• Report official scores and statistics to the NAIA, SSAC, and other governing bodies in a timely manner
• Maintain compliance with NAIA, SSAC, and institutional reporting requirements
• Maintain and update records of team and individual athletic achievements
• Assist in the management of athletics-related social media platforms, providing timely and engaging content
• Serve as the contact for athletics media and public relations, coordinating with local, regional, and national media outlets
• Collaborate with coaching staff to promote team stories and accomplishments
• Oversee live statistics and provide real-time updates through approved platforms during competitions
• Assist in the development and distribution of athletics communications, including recaps, releases, and feature content
• Other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to use common office productivity software, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and people
• Ability to learn new statistical software
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field
  • Experience in college and university athletics programs
  • Ability to compose press releases concerning athletic events
  • Experience in the field of sports information

Physical Demands

• Must have ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Must have strength and ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer and printer
• Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
• Must be able to perform duties in an on-campus setting
