Job Summary
The Assistant to the Registrar – Tradition Campus reports to the Registrar on the Hattiesburg Campus. This position assists the Registrar’s Office on the Hattiesburg Campus in all tasks and acts as the face of the Registrar’s Office on the Tradition Campus with any registrar duties such as of registration, graduation, and degree audit.
Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate chosen will be cross trained in many areas of the Office of Registrar and perform these tasks daily as assigned by University Registrar, as listed below:
- Assists the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose.
- Assists the university in implementing long-range institutional and financial plans.
- Serves the Tradition Campus in support of the operations of the Office of the Registrar.
- Reports to the University Registrar regarding related duties and tasks and to the Tradition Campus Academic Affairs Director regarding all day-to-day operations.
- Upholds FERPA confidentiality and regulations at all times.
- Actively works at establishing positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
- Assists the Coordinator of Transfer Credit with transfer credit evaluations.
- Assists with sending transcripts via Parchment as needed.
- Assists with report submission data to the National Clearinghouse
- Assists with degree application audits as assigned by the Coordinator of Degree Audit and Graduation.
- Processes grade change requests as needed.
- Answers phone calls and assist students, faculty/staff and visitors with information pertaining to registrar functions.
- Inputs student data into Student Information System (SIS.)
- Performs other duties assigned by supervisor(s).
Required Qualifications
- High School
- A willingness to learn.
- One year or more of experience in a similar office setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
Physical Demands
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite, student information systems, Adobe, etc.
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment
- Must be able to maintain office hours and perform duties in an on-campus setting
