Production Supervisor

We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer based in Boyertown, Pennsylvania who are looking for a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift to join their growing team.

• Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
• Direct Hire
• Shift Pattern: 2nd Shift – Mon to Thurs 6:30pm-5am, Fri 3:30pm – 12am

About the Role

The successful Production Supervisor demonstrates a take-charge, servant leadership style—one that prioritizes the needs of the team while maintaining clear direction and accountability to meet company goals. This individual will ensure safety, product quality, and productivity while promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of machine operators and packers to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Lead and develop the 2nd shift team across production, maintenance, and quality, ensuring safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity that align with financial targets.
• Work closely with maintenance and quality personnel to meet business objectives.
• Utilize lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, 5-Whys, PDCA/SDCA cycles, SMED, and waste reduction to improve the value chain.
• Maintain situational awareness across the production floor; effectively multitask and manage priorities in real time.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues; assist with maintenance when possible.
• Train, coach, and motivate employees in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Maintain housekeeping and enforce safety standards throughout the facility.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, both verbally and electronically.
• Provide accurate production reporting and documentation.
• Oversee shift security and facility safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or high-speed packaging environment (Motivated early-career engineers with strong leadership potential will also be considered).

Required Skills

• Proven mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through servant leadership—empowering, supporting, and holding teams accountable.
• Strong decision-making skills: able to analyze facts, exercise sound judgment, and act with confidence.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing principles (5S, SMED, PDCA, waste elimination).
• Prefer experience in GMP/cGMP or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts with intellectual curiosity—asking not just what, but why.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Self-starter who works independently while fostering teamwork across departments.
