Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Position Scope: Primary function is equipment fabrication as well as maintain and repair packaging machinery, and all other equipment. Work closely with the production department in achieving and improving production efficiency.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Required self-starting, motivated individual with mechanical aptitude experience
2. Strong problem-solving skills. Must be able to analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience as fabricator and maintenance mechanic or equivalent
4. Promote and adhere to all plant safety and quality (GMP) requirements for all plant personnel, and knowledge of safety procedures is required (e.g. lock out/Tag out, confined space)
5. Ability to read and understand blue prints, plans, and schematics
6. Schedule flexibility to work overtime, and weekends during the packing (summer harvest)
7. ability to rebuild and repair gearboxes, pumps, and other manufacturing equipment
8. Must have some electrical troubleshooting experience in high speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment
Experience/Education/Skills
* Learn and practice current company safety policies: Forklift and Mobile elevated work platform certified to help as needed
* High school GED or Diploma (some college a plus) required and a high level of communication skills: both verbal and written
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation
* Work with other employees to find successful solutions
Job Environment
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and to carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
* Fast-paced environment that requires organizational skills and ability to manage stress
* Be willing and able to work any or all shifts, as needed, to conduct safe work audits and training
* Performs other duties as assigned by maintenance manager and maintenance team
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
