We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Part-Time Computer Programming Teacher to inspire students in grades K-8. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and programming with a passion for teaching and the ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging for younger learners.
Responsibilities
- Teach computer programming for Elementary and Middle school students.
- Design age-appropriate lesson plans, hands-on projects, and assessments.
- Introduce core skills in Scratch and Python, knowing how to code with MIT APP Inventor or similar platform is a bonus.
- Foster curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills through project-based learning.
- Adapt lessons to accommodate different skill levels within the classroom.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students exploring advanced STEM pathways.
- Collaborate with the academic team to integrate computer science into the broader school curriculum.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Teaching or tutoring experience with elementary to middle school students preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Scratch coding and Python (other languages a plus: Java, C , JavaScript, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Enthusiasm for education, mentorship, and inspiring young learners.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $35–$60/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
