The Assistant Dietary Manager needs to exercise sound judgement and decision-making in the development, planning, organization, and direction of the Dietary Department. To ensure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the Dietary Department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Pay: Starting at $16.00 Hourly
Core Responsibilities:
1. Assist in Planning, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, supervise, train, and assist the Dietary director.
2. Assist in creating menu's, using a menu manager
3. Develop methods for determining quality and quantity of food served.
4. Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees.
5. Assist Meet with Dietary employees on a regular basis. Communicate current issues, changes, and solicit advice to improve services and teamwork.
6. Assist and Meet with supply vendors as needed to assure procurement of necessary supplies.
7. Assist in developing a preventative maintenance program for dietary equipment. Requisition equipment as necessary.
8. Assist and Assures accurate staff coverage or fills in as needed.
9. Assist and Forecast the needs and services of the Dietary Department.
10. Assist and Productively plan and budget for food, equipment, supplies, and labor.
11. Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and selection of environmental service employees.
12. Assist and Determine departmental staffing requirements necessary to meet departmental needs. Assist in the development of written job descriptions.
13.Assist and Develop, implement, and maintain an effective department orientation/training program that orients the new employees to the department, position, and policies and procedures.
14. Assist and Develop monthly schedules, including vacation and holiday schedules, to ensure quality service.
15. Assist with Interview residents, and/or family members as necessary to obtain diet history.
16. Assist Participate in maintaining the resident’s dietary records.
17. Assist Visit residents periodically to evaluate the quality of meals served, likes, dislikes, etc.
1. Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
2. Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., of the Dietary department.
3. Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
4. Must be able to meet the attendance expectations (be at work on time and as scheduled).
