WILL COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT (TEMPORARY/NO BENEFITS)
POSITION: Health Navigator (Grant Position)
DIVISION: Administrative Services
WAGES: $22.00-$25.00 Per Hr.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Health Navigator works in collaboration with the COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Team, local Community-Based organizations, local health providers, various county departments, and local social service organizations to assure that information, education, and vaccination opportunities are available to all residents in Will County. This position will identify and target individuals that are disproportionally affected by the COVID-19 virus in terms of morbidity and mortality. Must apply on www.willcountyhealth.org.
MINIMUM UALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum one (1) year of experience performing direct education, outreach, fielding referrals to hard to reach communities and/or volunteer or professional experience in community outreach, grassroots, or advocacy . Or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with six (6) months of experience performing education, outreach, fielding referrals, or working within an organization furthering health equity and/or volunteer or professional experience in community outreach, grassroots, or advocacy.
REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, minimum auto liability insurance. Verification of employment eligibility.
DESIRED: Bilingual. May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, medical providers, residents, social service and community-based organizations and staff. Comfortable engaging with the public, able to actively listen, and effectively convey information. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Weekend hours may be required at times. Must have their own reliable transportation and will be required to use own vehicle for field work.
