The Truck Stop Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the physical infrastructure of the truck stop to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and patrons. This role demands a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal facility operations at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of all facility systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fuel pumps.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend lifespan.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies during operational hours.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all maintenance areas and tools.
- Collaborate with external contractors for major repairs or installations, ensuring work is completed to code.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and updates.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Upkeep of the car and truck parking area, picking up trash from travel center lot, dumping the outside trash receptacles, etc. Includes bi-annual pressure washing sidewalks, parking area.
- Responsible for keeping windshield solvent full and replacing squeegees when necessary as well as replacing printer paper in pumps as needed.
- Maintaining the sidewalks and pump areas (high foot traffic areas) in winter weather conditions with continued scooping and salting as needed.
- General upkeep of the travel center landscaping in summer months.
- Assisting with cleaning restrooms and showers as well as store trash removal during slow maintenance times.
- Removal of large trash items from store when needed.
