Wilkes University invites applicants for an IT Support Specialist in the Information Technology Services Department. This position supports the campus community by providing technology support and troubleshooting assistance to faculty, staff, administration, and students through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
The successful candidate is responsible for providing front-line technical support on technology-related issues; entering, documenting, and resolving Help Desk tickets; participating in computer deployments and computer support activities; assisting and training student Help Desk workers; and communicating technology-related updates and outages to the campus community. Candidates should be able to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues across both Windows and Mac operating systems while working collaboratively within a team-based IT environment.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while an associate or bachelor's degree in a technology-related field is preferred. Candidates should have 1–3 years of experience in a technology support environment, preferably in higher education, along with strong customer service, organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills. Experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems, hardware peripherals, and wired and wireless network connectivity is preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
