The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Wilkes University invites applications for a Faculty of Practice position specializing in Additive Manufacturing. We seek an experienced professional with a strong background in advanced manufacturing processes, including 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), who is passionate about undergraduate and graduate engineering education. Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Additive Manufacturing, Solid Mechanics, CAD/CAM, and related areas
- Supervise student projects and senior capstones involving advanced manufacturing techniques
- Assist in the development and integration of hands-on laboratory modules and applied learning experiences
- Collaborate with industry partners to enhance experiential learning and workforce readiness
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in service activities within the department and college as appropriate
Qualifications:
- A Master or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in additive manufacturing technologies and design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoDesk Fusion 360, EOS, Markforged, or similar platforms)
- Strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and the integration of practical, hands-on learning in the classroom
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
