The Assistant Registrar supports the Registrar in managing student registration, academic records, and enrollment services. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the registration process and problem-solving for faculty, staff, and students. Includes managing waitlist, student portal assistance, registration hotline, section splits and changes, class cancellations, and schedule corrections.
- Process Career and College Promise admissions and registrations, handle Early College High School registrations, manage schedule changes, run reports, and distribute grades.
- Evaluate and record transfer credit from incoming transcripts.
- Process "No Show" and "Non-payment" purges to remove students from rosters and the course management system.
- Communicate instructions and deadlines to faculty. Assist faculty with the grading process, attendance, and student reinstatements.
- Monitor the final grading process and completion.
- Assist the Financial Aid and Business Office in student account adjustments.
- Reconcile the prerequisite report and remove students from classes.
- Serve as acting Registrar in the Registrar's absence, assuming responsibility for all Registrar duties and ensuring continuity of operations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration, or related areas.
- Must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (students, instructors, administration, and the general public).
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential.
- Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft Office software (Excel, Access, and Word), budget, and database management.
- Weekends, evenings, and occasional overnight travel are part of the work schedule for this position.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Preferred experience with student records management, registration processes, student information systems, reporting and data analysis, and customer service and student support.
