About the Job:
- Maintain the sterile environment of the operating room until the patient is brought to the recovery room
- Sterilize equipment and the operating room
- Help prepare the patient for surgery
- Gather, count, and arrange equipment and surgical tools needed during surgery
- Prepare patients for procedures
- Keep the operating room sterile
- Pass surgical tools to surgeons and assistants
- Assist in retracting tissues from the surgical patient
- Count all tools and instruments used during surgery
- Apply dressings to surgical sites
- Dispose of needles and gauze
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited operating room technical program
- Certified Surgical Technologist through the NBSTSA or NCCT
- Current BLS certification
- Rotating shift/weekends/holidays and call
