Assist Teacher in 3-5 year old classroom

We are seeking candidates who are flexible and willing to take any assigned tasks and to work with various age groups. Wilk N Kids Learning Center is looking for professionals who are passionate about teaching and working with children and are excited about making a difference in their lives. Our Assistant Teachers exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude and a love of learning. Our Assistant Teachers support developmentally appropriate academic and values curricula in a loving and safe environment. Our Assistant Teachers assist in classroom management including supervision, transitions, cleaning and preparing supplies.

Shifts: Full-time 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Part time 8:00 to 2:00 PM

• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
• Ensure a safety center environment- including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of all children.
• Institute weekly lesson plans and activities.
• Substitute in classrooms when needed.
• Work independently with little or no guidance.
• Help children with the potty training process.
• Interact with the children

In order to be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements, including:

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry a minimum of 45 pounds, engage in physical activity with children, and work indoors or outdoors.
• Must be able to constantly move and interact with the children to provide stimulation and develop relationships.
• Must be able to alternate often between sitting and standing.
• Must be able to maintain sight and sound of the children at all times.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to obtain.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Pass pre-employment screenings and trainings as required.
• Minimum of six months of professional childcare experience.
• High energy.
• Willing to attend once a month staff meeting.
• Must clear full background check, fingerprinting and must pass health screening.
