Cafe Monitor

Job Purpose:
- The Cafe Monitor at Wiley University is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within the campus cafe. This role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining order, and providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the cafe area to ensure cleanliness and orderliness at all times.
- Assist in the coordination of cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the cafe.
- Support cafe staff in maintaining inventory and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with management to implement improvements and enhance the cafe experience.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:
- Previous experience working in a customer service role, preferably in a food service environment.
- Experience in handling cash transactions and operating a point-of-sale system.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and staff.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints professionally.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying supplies.
