Location: Office based in Latham but some travel within the Capital District

Summary
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional's (QIDP) main objective is to enhance the quality of life and independence for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities by: Ensuring every client receives consistent, individualized care in the least restrictive environment possible; Overseeing the development, implementation, and review of all care plans to guarantee they meet regulatory and quality standards;Serving as a strategic resource for leadership staff to effectively monitor client progress.

Requirements
- MUST HAVE BOTH
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology)
- at least 1 year working with people with Intellectual and developmental disabilities. ( I/DD population) is required.
- Computer skills: Word processing, Google suite; E-mail and database software. Preferred
- Additional years of experience in plan writing and development is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Reviews and approves program Staff Action Plans in accordance with OPWDD regulation and agency policies and procedures.
- Reviews and approves Life Plans for all program participants.
- Communicates with the Care Manager, Participant and/or provider to ensure that the Staff Action Plan meets the Participant’s needs and desires; supplies guidance or direct intervention when it does not.
- Completes monthly billing report review
- Monitor Life Plans and Staff Action Plan for compliance and quality standards, including but not limited to timely completion, distribution, attestation.
- Conduct informal reviews in areas such as ensuring records are up to date and complete; documentation meets both compliance and quality standards.
- Collaborates with Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Program Leaders re: training materials and as a QIDP Resource
- Provide coverage for other agency QIDP’s as applicable.
Additional Requirements:
- Daily access to an automobile is required. The position requires occasional travel to programs.
- A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
