Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of residential or commercial spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to meet hygiene standards
- Handle laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and clothing items
- Maintain floor care routines including carpet cleaning, polishing hard floors, and applying protective treatments
- Manage janitorial tasks like restocking supplies, emptying trash bins, and ensuring all cleaning equipment is properly maintained
- Assist with outdoor work when necessary, including sweeping walkways or maintaining outdoor furniture and areas
- Practice manual handling techniques when lifting heavy furniture or equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally while maintaining a friendly demeanor
Skills
- Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning environments with janitorial or custodial backgrounds preferred
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and cleaning products to ensure safe environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during tasks such as moving furniture or large supplies
- Skilled in floor care techniques including carpet cleaning and floor polishing
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout shifts
- Experience with laundry processes and handling delicate fabrics with care
- Knowledge of housekeeping management practices for supervising or coordinating cleaning teams when needed
- Outdoor work experience is a plus for maintaining exterior spaces effectively
- Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with residents or clients
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping standards or hospitality industry experience is advantageous
