Civil Engineering / Stormwater Internship
Seeking a civil or environmental engineering, landscape architecture or environmental planning senior level student or recent graduate for a summer internship position with an ecological restoration engineering firm based in South Lake Tahoe, California. The majority of work would be in supporting construction and marina site storm water monitoring, sampling and reporting, field data collection efforts in the Tahoe/Truckee and northern Nevada regions. Additional tasks may include but are not necessarily limited to writing permit applications and supporting documentation, performing drainage design or geomorphic focused calculations, assisting with grade checking on construction sites under the Design Engineer, compiling and interpreting data results and developing CAD details or grading plans.
Applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills. Additional academic or career experience that would be beneficial includes:
· CAD or CIVIL 3D drafting
· Water quality sampling and analysis
· Knowledge of CEQA/NEPA
· Knowledge of Resource Agency Regulations (e.g. US Army Corps of Engineers, CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife, State Water Resource Control Board).
· Developing grading or storm water drainage plans
· Geomorphology and/or river and wetland design
· Hydrology & Hydraulic analyses
· Site plan development
· Water and wastewater utility designs
· Recreational access/trail design
