What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at Wildrose Kennels?
Overview:
Wildrose Kennels, the oldest and most reputable breeder and trainer of British Labradors in the United States, is once-again expanding our Midwest team and looking to hire a part-time Kennel Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about dogs, training and the outdoors.
Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and maintain kennels
- Exercise kennel dogs
- Assist with grooming tasks
- Assist with backgrounding and training dogs
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Required Experience:
- Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with customers and teammates
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed
- Must be willing to background puppies (basic obedience training) in your home for 2-4 months a year (compensation extra for this)
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel or veterinary setting is preferred
- Previous experience delivering and whelping puppies.
