Wildlife Mississippi is seeking qualified applicants for a Mississippi Alluvial Valley Delivery Coordinator to support the Lower Mississippi Valley Joint Venture (LMVJV) partnership.
This position will be located within the
Mississippi Alluvial Valley (MAV) region of Arkansas, Louisiana, or Mississippi.
The MAV Delivery Coordinator will help strengthen conservation delivery across the region by coordinating partner networks, supporting habitat conservation strategies, assisting with landowner outreach, and helping advance bird conservation goals throughout the Mississippi Alluvial Valley.
This role is ideal for a motivated conservation professional who enjoys working with partners, landowners, agencies, and organizations to move habitat projects from planning to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
The MAV Delivery Coordinator will:
• Serve as a key member of the LMVJV Office, supporting conservation delivery efforts across the Mississippi Alluvial Valley.
• Build, support, and coordinate multi-agency conservation delivery networks among state, federal, private, and nonprofit partners.
• Assist with the development and implementation of landscape-level conservation strategies for priority bird species and habitats.
• Support partner efforts related to wetland restoration, reforestation, forest management, shallow-water habitat practices, and agricultural conservation programs.
• Coordinate strategic outreach to landowners and producers regarding conservation opportunities,
including easements and cost-share programs.
• Help translate regional conservation goals and decision-support tools into site-level projects and partner actions.
• Assist with grant proposal development, project tracking, reporting, and documentation of conservation accomplishments.
• Communicate regularly with partners to advance shared conservation goals and maintain strong working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
• Master’s degree in Forestry, Wildlife, Fisheries, Environmental Science, or a related field; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Wildlife, Fisheries, Environmental Science, or a related field with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of wildlife habitat restoration, wetland restoration, reforestation, native grass establishment, and habitat management practices.
• Experience working with landowners, contractors, conservation partners, and government agencies.
• Familiarity with USDA Farm Bill programs and conservation practice implementation.
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, networking, and project management skills.
• Experience with agriculture, forestry, silviculture, conservation practices, habitat management, and wildlife biology.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, ArcGIS, and digital mapping.
• Ability to work independently and in field conditions that may require physical activity.
• Capability to work independently with little direct supervision.
• Valid driver’s license required; basic knowledge of land management tools and equipment such as trailers, ATVs, boats, tractors, and implements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, produce effective results, and meet deadlines; applicant must be self-motivated, responsible, and have the ability to solve problems.
Salary and Benefits
Starting Salary is $60,000, or commensurate with education and experience.
