Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician (MT) works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to support all daily, preventative, and long-term maintenance and facility improvement projects. This position is responsible for a wide range of repair and upkeep activities to ensure facilities, equipment, and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possesses strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience. This role requires manual dexterity, physical stamina, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs including water pumps, hot wire systems, enclosure repairs, basic carpentry, hazard tree removal, and related tasks
  • Complete routine and preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing HVAC filters, equipment servicing)
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment, machinery, and facility systems
  • Perform basic welding, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Operate heavy equipment including boom trucks, tractors, and backhoes
  • Assist with renovations, facility expansions, and improvement projects
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and ongoing projects
  • Report to the Facilities Supervisor regarding completed tasks, outstanding issues, and projects in progress
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and safety regulations

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environmental conditions
  • Must have current driver license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.05 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
